This class is designed to introduce students to the systematics, behavior, major taxa, physiology, identification, conservation, monitoring and ecology of birds. Emphasis will be on, but not restricted to, local forms. Laboratories will be field-based, focusing on Identification, capturing and marking (banding) of specimens. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in Biology 211 or Environmental Science 210.
