(Traditional) Focuses on foundational concepts necessary for safe, quality, patient-centered nursing care to diverse populations across the lifespan, while integrating legal and ethical responsibilities of the professional nurse. Introduces caring, critical thinking, the nursing process and communication techniques used when interacting with patients and members of the interprofessional team and explains evidence-based nursing practice. Includes the acquisition of foundational psychomotor skills and the application of these skills in a laboratory and structured clinical setting. (3 semester hours lecture and 3 semester hours clinical). Pre-Requisites: BIOL 270 and 271; CHEM 190; MATH 113; HSCI 100.
