This course introduces students to the biology of the Class Insecta and related taxa in a clear, concise, and relaxed manner. The emphasis of this course will be on the evolution, classification, diversity, ecology, behavior, structure and function of Insecta. Collection and preservation techniques are covered in the laboratory component. There will be three hours of lecture each week, 3 hours of laboratory work each week, as well as field trips.
