A course designed to introduce the elementary teacher to the methodologies of science teaching involving an understanding of the level of the learners in relation to the techniques and methods most appropriate to their learning abilities and modes. An introduction to the nature, scope, rationale and philosophy of the more commonly used science curriculum projects in the elementary schools. Class sessions are a combination of lecture and hands-on experiences. Prerequisite: Education 260. Must have full admission into teacher education program. Co-requisite or prerequisite: Reading 320.
