A course designed to provide an overview of the field of chemistry. This course provides a basic foundation for the understanding of chemical phenomena through selected principles and applications. Knowledge of high school algebra or one college mathematics course is recommended. The laboratory is designed to give the student experience in making measurements and to help in understanding the scientific method as a means of obtaining information.
