This course is designed to instruct students on the limitations and proper use of parametric and non-parametric statistical techniques used to answer ecological and environmental questions. Students will learn about study design, descriptive statistics, statistical power, hypothesis testing, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), correlation, linear regression and their non-parametric counterparts. Additional statistical methods include Chi-square tests, logistic regression and circular statistics, plus an introduction to advanced multivariate techniques.
