This course is designed to provide students with a supervised Special Education field experience. The practicum ensures that in addition to teaching, students will gain the experience and skills that are unique to the Special Education Profession. This field experience will involve conducting assessments of education functioning, IEP development, curriculum and classroom design, collaboration skill, instructional strategies and the evaluation of instruction on analysis of student performance data. When and where appropriate, this field experience will also focus on providing support for exceptional students who participate in "inclusive" programs.
