The course will enhance the student's knowledge of legal issues commonly faced by coaches, both on and off the field, so the student will be able to utilize this knowledge in day-to-day situations faced by amateur and professional coaches, and to develop a basic understanding of the law so that the student may recognize and hopefully avoid common legal pitfalls. Fundamentals of the areas of the law that affect sports and that are affected by sports will also be covered.
