An applied economics approach to understanding the workings of the domestic and international monetary system with a focus on critical thinking, examination of events, and prediction of outcomes. Topics include money, interest rates, banks and other financial intermediaries, the Federal Reserve System, financial markets, monetary policy, and a number of related social and ethical issues.
