Entomology is the scientific study of insects. Course outcomes include demonstrated knowledge of the structure and function, development, evolution, ecology, and systematics of insects. The lab serves to reinforce lecture material through specimen dissection and field experiences. Skills emphasized include entomological field techniques for collecting and preserving insect specimens and identification of preserved specimens. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 3 hours per week.
